On March 18, 2014, members of the original gender equity committees were invited to join with WGS faculty for a special tribute to Pres. Emeritus Charles M Vest, and to show collective appreciation for his contributions to gender equity at MIT.

Following this Tribute, WGS launched the Charles M. Vest Women in Stem Wikipedia Edit-a-thon@MIT, facilitated by Maia Weinstock of the New England Wikimedians user group. The Edit-a-thon was dedicated to improving and creating Wikipedia entries related to the history of women in the STEM fields.
